
Schools Across the Upper Cumberland Awarded a Total of $80,000
Congratulations to the 8 schools across our service area that successfully completed the TVA EnergyRight School Uplift grant program, and each earned a $10,000 Learning Environment Grant.
We would like to recognize the following schools for this achievement:
Smith County ($50,000)
• Forks River School
• Gordonsville Elementary School
• Smith County Middle School
• Union Heights School
• Smith County High School
Jackson County ($10,000)
• Jackson County High School
Overton County ($20,000)
• Livingston Middle School
• Allons Elementary School








UCEMC is proud to congratulate these schools. They have demonstrated a commitment to improving energy efficiency and enhancing learning environments for their students and staff. Through this program, the awarded schools will benefit from energy-saving upgrades and resources that will provide long-term savings and sustainability opportunities. The $80,000 will make a huge impact to the schools in our communities.

The Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation (UCEMC) is an electric power distribution cooperative. UCEMC is owned and operated by its members and distributes electric power through more than 4,600 miles of lines to more than 50,000 members located primarily in Jackson, Overton, Putnam and Smith Counties and northern DeKalb County. Several members are served in “fringe” areas of Clay, Fentress, Macon, Pickett, White, and Wilson Counties.
