Cares Grants Awarded since January 2014: $2,211,926.75
This Month’s UCEMC Cares Grant Recipients
- Smith County High School Journalism was awarded $4,982.85. Funds used for Apple Macbook, Panasonic camcorder, Lenovo laptop for broadcasts, wireless mic system, adobe cloud, and studio lights.
- Baxter Primary School PTO was awarded $1,423.15. Funds used for a sensory room. A sensory room is a space which provides immersive sensory stimulation with a variety of goals including: therapy, stress reduction and relaxation.
- CHS Band Boosters was awarded $2,000.00. Funds used towards CHS Marching Band uniform drive.
- Upper Cumberland Community Host Group for Remote Area Medical Clinic was awarded $2,500.00. Funds used towards their annual clinic; patient labs, promotions, volunteer t-shirts, patient’s nutrition (Ensure), water, snacks, custodial/kitchen fees and hotels for healthcare professionals.
- LA Soccer Booster Club was awarded $535.07. Funds used to purchase uniforms, equipment and maintain the field.
- Overton Co Jr. Wildcat Football Booster Club was awarded $500.00. Funds used to equip our players with safe helmets and gear for football.
- Overton Co Jr Wildcat Girls Soccer Booster Club was awarded $788.08. Funds used to purchase an AED, AED pads, batteries, medical bag with medical supplies.
- FBC BackPack Food Ministry was awarded $500.00. Funds used to supply weekend meals to children in Overton Co. who do not have adequate food supplies.
- Cedar Lake Camp was awarded $1,100.00. Funds used to purchase food for campers and staff during fall and spring camp.
- Progressive Ag Safety Day Farm Safety Day Camp was awarded $2,500.00. Funds used for life jackets and other items for all 4th graders in Overton Co.
- Parents for JCHS Project Graduation was awarded $5,000.00. The funds used to cover some of the expenses on graduation night. They rent inflatables, karaoke and a photobooth. They also provide food, t-shirts, gift cards, and prizes for everyone.
- Jackson Co Youth Football was awarded $923.15. Funds used for new jerseys and equipment.
