Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation was well represented at the Tennessee Electric Cooperative Association’s annual Youth Leadership Summit. Logan Brown from Upperman High, and Grace Wilson, a Junior at Jackson County High, joined more than 45 high school juniors from across the state who traveled to Nashville in March.
The students are selected by their local electric co-ops, school officials, and guidance counselors for their academic achievements and leadership potential. Delegates to the event receive a hands-on look at state government, learn networking and leadership skills, and better understand their local electric cooperatives. The students visited with legislators at the Capitol, sat in committee meetings, and debated and voted on a mock bill. Congratulations to Logan and Grace on being chosen for this fun and educational trip.
