Residential Services

Upper Cumberland Electric Membership offers several programs to provide our customers, with ease in the payment of their bills and a more efficient energy operation. They might want to take advantage of the programs of interest to them!

  • Bank Draft

  • Budget Billing

  • Project Help

  • Alternate Payment Date

  • Automated Meter Reading System

Bank Draft – Payment of their account by bank draft is available at no additional charge. Any member who can pay bills by check may participate in the plan. This process is accomplished by electronic bank debit each month on their due date.

Budget Billing – Equal monthly amounts for electric service taken by the Customer at his/her designated location. Determination of the equal amount shall be the Cooperative’s responsibility based upon Customer’s use history.

Project Help - This is a program designed to help defray emergency energy costs for elderly and disabled members as well as those who are not economically self-sufficient. Customers may contribute $1.00 or more per month on their electric bill. The money collected is sent to an independent agency to determine who should receive their special funds. Recipients may only receive funds once a year and the decision is left totally to the selection of the agency.

Alternate Payment Plan – enables consumers with monthly periodic incomes at or below the poverty level as defined and published by the US Department of Human Services to pay their electric bills on dates coincident with their receipt of monthly income.

Automated Meter Reading System - LINK, your power quality monitoring connection, is a full-featured affordable automated meter reading (AMR) product designed to give you added control to efficiently manage your power and meet your customers' needs both today and tomorrow.

Here's how it works. The LINK provides not only automated meter reading, but real-time reports of power outages, power restorations, high or low voltage conditions, and momentary outages.

LINK fits quickly and easily between the existing meter and meter base without any special modifications to the meter. The existing meter, is removed and the LINK unit is inserted into the meter base and the mechanical meter is re-set. The only other requirement is a simple connection to the consumer's existing telephone line. The parameters for LINK's functions can be modified remotely over the telephone, and the system uses the customer's existing telephone line for reporting back to the utility.
